Pesticides are poisons. So how does that affect you?
“It is ironic to think that man might determine his own future by something so seemingly trivial as the choice of an insect spray.” – Rachel Carson, Silent Spring
Are synthetic pesticides a long term problem? Yes, they are. How you deal with insects is very important.
A synthetic pesticide is not a natural substance. It is a man made concoction that does not exist in Nature. Fake, false, unnatural – kind of like plastic that doesn’t disintegrate. Once created, it will be here forever.
From the perspective of the environment, this is a disaster. A substance that is scientifically engineered to kill something will be around forever and ever. A poison introduced into Nature that will persist indefinitely. Sounds way too much like a repeat of DDT (the poster child for bad synthetic pesticides).
From the perspective of being a human, the term disaster doesn’t even scratch the surface. Nightmarish, atrocious, and ghastly seem better adjectives. How so?
Our food supply is rife with these fake substances and we ingest them all the time. Truly – all the time. United States agriculture uses billions of tons of these pest-killing products in our food supply. They are absorbed into the plant crops so then we eat them. And they are fed to the livestock to concentrate further into the meat that we eat. All meat, vegetables and starches created in this country have synthetic pesticides inherent in their production.
So what? Well, remember the always-persist-and-never-goes-away thingy talked about before? Yep – now these pesticides are hanging around inside your body. Never to be released.
Humans can’t get rid of these pest destroying compounds because they are not natural. Our bodies cannot metabolize them. We don’t even recognize them. Our livers and kidneys and our sophisticated waste and filtration systems can’t get rid of fake things. We can only take care of things that Nature creates.
So these poisonous ingredients begin to concentrate within us. Remember, these are neuro-toxins designed to affect the brains of pests. Once they get a high enough level in our bodies, they begin to affect OUR brains.
No way, you say! How can such an outrageous claim be made?
Ever noticed how many more people are dealing with ADHD? Are you aware with the increasing rates of Autism? What about the volume of people dealing with Alzheimer’s? Coincidence? No. These are ALL compromised brain functions and weren’t we just talking about pesticides affecting brain function?
The choices we make every day form the cumulative effects and tolls our bodies take. We can opt for protecting ourselves by eliminating our exposure to pesticides. Our futures depend on it.
